Cadillac Michigan, the gateway to the North! Cadillac is an old logging town in the Northwestern lower peninsula. Manufacturing and tourism has become the most prominent industry after logging left the area many years ago. Cadillac is also the place where three of Northern Michigan's most prominent highways merge. (US-131, M-55, and M-115) This is where it gets it's name gateway to the North, because normally if you are traveling from some of the more populated southern cities you will pass through and probably stop in Cadillac at some point.
Cadillac is not a very large city with a population of just over 10,000. It however is the largest city in the surrounding area. It is where I grew up and where I pull a lot of who I am from. My parents still reside in Cadillac as well as the parents of many of my very good friends. I unfortunately do not get the chance to return to Cadillac to visit as much as I would like because of the distance from Oregon. However it is always a small quiet retreat when I do make it back.
Here are a small selection of photos of me doing the things I love with the people I love doing those things with.
Sports of all kind have always been something that I have been drawn to. Even though I am so far away from the teams I grew up supporting I still keep them all very close to me. I attempt to watch as many of these team's games as possible. I quite frequently am wearing one of these logos on a hat, jersey, shirt, or coat.
Some times the love of my sports teams puts me in precarious positions.....
